Hi All,

Here's another take of this layout from Do Stamping with Dawn.

On this card, I used Island Indigo for the background and ran it through an embossing folder (discontinued). The Pool Party strip at the bottom of the card was embossed with Delicate Designs folder and trimmed with the Large scallop Edgelits die. I used the Flower Shop stamp set and rock n roll stamped the various stamps in Wisteria wonder, Blushing Bride, Pool Party and Island Indigo ink. then punched them out using the Pansy punch that compliments this set.

The sentiment is from Oh, Hello.

She Believed....

Hi All,

On Gina K's Stamp TV this week, she demonstrated this 
Garden Background technique. 

So I thought I would give it a try.

I got out my Fabulous Florets(123027) & Bloomin' Marvelous(Sale-A-Bration) stamp sets from Stampin' Up and went to task at it.

I stamped the various flowers using a combination of Blushing Bride(119786), Crisp Cantaloupe(131176), Strawberry Slush(131178) and Pistachio Pudding(131177) for the leaves. The last three colours are 

Stampin' Up's 2013-2015 In-Colours. 

The sentiment is a stamp from the Feel Goods(129684) stamp set, which I stamped in Baked Brown Sugar(131174) and layered on to a piece of white which I sponged using Strawberry Slush and die cut using the Labels Collections Dies(125598). I used my Paper-piercing tool(126189) and Festive Paper-Piercing pack(127857) to get the stitching effect around the Strawberry Slush piece.

I then sponged(101610) a layer of Whisper White(100730) sponged using Pistachio Pudding around the edges and adhered it to the Baked Brown Sugar(131296) base. I wrapped garden background piece with 7/16" natural Trim(129287). The button was made using Simply Pressed Clay(130685) and Button & Blossoms Molds(131272)(Love this stuff!!), and I tied a bow with Linen Thread(104199).

Happy Father's Day Dad...!

Hi All,

Father's Day is just 5 days away.

I made this card for my Dad. He really is a Dapper Dad(129198).

Like this stamp set I used here from Stampin' Up.

I sponged one of our new in-colours for 2013-2015, Baked Brown Sugar (131174) on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Then stamped off and stamped the background stamp En Francais(127790) and added the watch from the same Dapper Dad set. DSP Print Poetry(129312) paper stack from the spring mini this year. 

The paper pieced shoe and sentiment Well Scripted(discontinued)were added using 

Stampin' Demensionals (104430).

This all adhered to a background of Midnight Muse(126843) cardstock.

Simply Pressed Clay & Moulds... New from Stampin' Up!...

So... I received my Simply Pressed Clay(130685)  and Simply Pressed Clay Moulds(131272) yesterday, and I started to play and experiment. I was having trouble getting a good impression from the button mould. I heard about putting them in the freezer and decided to try it. I found that once I pressed the clay into the mould then put it in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes, I got the best result.  The buttons came out perfectly round. A couple of things to keep in mind though, take them out of the moulds as soon as you take it from the freezer and don't handle it too much until it drys.

I made this card by inspiration from Darlene Designs.

For my card, I used the rock and roll technique with one of the stamps from the Mixed Bunch stamp set.
I sponged the base of the card using Gumball Green & Midnight Muse, ran a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of whisper white through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan fold and punched out the window using the Blossom punch.
I then punched the sentiment from On the Grow with the Word Window punch and attached it with bakers twine and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Get Well Card

Hi All,

a quick post today....

If you visit my blog often, you will find that I like to use this background technique of using scraps that is demonstrated by Gina K on Stamp TV.

I coloured up this scooter image from Stampin' Up's - On the Go (discontinued) 
with my Copic Markers, layered it on a tag and added stitching lines.

The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and the ribbon is from the dollar store.

I layered this on all onto black card stock and then onto craft card stock.

Masculine Birthday Card

Hi All,

May is a big card month. Mother's Day, Birthdays etc.

My nephew is turning 17 this month. I find that 17 year old boy birthday cards are always hard.

But I got some inspiration for Gina K's Vintage Note card project, 
and I added a masculine spin to it.

My nephew is very artistic so I wanted it to look like someone doodled some shells on this library card from Stamping Bella called Your Book is Due. I cut and distressed some designer paper from Basic Grey and adhered it to a black card base. The twine is Lawn Fawn.

My grade 12 art teacher was a firm believer of the K.I.S.S. theroy
(Keep It Simple Stupid). 
I tend to  employ this when making masculine cards.

Little Bundle...

Hi All,

Thought I would share this with you.

My Sister asked me to make a baby card for friend of hers. So, I made this for her. 

This is my 'go to' layout when I'm short on time to come up with something really spectacular.

I cut the card stock so the finished size end up being about 3" x 5".

I went around the outside front with 

Martha Stewarts Double Loops Punch Around the page punch set. 

Then I cut designer paper for the background to the same size as the solid inside portion and rounded the corners. 

The sentiment stamp, is Stampin' Up! - Punches Three, (discontinued)

which I coloured to match the designer paper with my Stamp 'n' Write markers from Stampin' Up!. I added some coordinating ribbon and.... Voila!... a beautiful card for any occasion.

Hi All,

just a quick post today!

I had this image coloured up for quite some time now, 

and I make a card with it last weekend.

The stamp set is Serenite from Stampin' Up! (retired).
I embossed the background with the
Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder form Stampin' Up!
This double edge Doily Lace punch from Martha Stewart is a nice answer to ribbon.
I added some bling and faux stitching lines.

FCCB #99 - Fancy Trims

Hi All,

The challenge over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog this week is to 

create a project Using fabric, lace or other trims.

A friend of mine asked me to make a baby card 
for a family member who just had a baby.

So naturally, my first thought was this adorable cut from 

the Wild Card Cricut cartridge (pg.76).
The sentiment from Sweet Little Sentiments - Stampin' Up! 
is layered onto Nestabilities ovals and Scallop ovals.
Using a chocolate chip Stampin' Write marker, 
I added stitching lines all around and highlights with a white gel pen.
I sponged the edges and added 
Lace Trim from KaiserCraft and a bow to finish.

Tulip!

Hi All,

Thought I would share this with everybody,

A friend of mine asked me to make a card for her mother's birthday.

Her Mom she lives in Jamaica and has beautiful flower gardens.

So, since tulips don't grow in Jamaica, 

I thought this would be the best theme for her card.

I used this Tulip motif from Anna Griffin 

and coloured it up with my Stampin' Up! pencil crayons and Gamsol.

I then die cut the image using Spellbinders Curved Rectangles,

and layered it on to Basic Grey's Picadilly designer paper then added dollar store ribbon.

The Framed Tulip border is embossed on Cherry Cobbler card stock,

from Stampin' Up!

Hi all,

A friend of mine just lost her dad suddenly, 

I wanted to let her know that I'm thinking about her in her time of loss.

So, I made this card for her.

To make this card, I started with a Bermuda Bay (retired) base, 

then I coloured up this Apothecary Art label 

using my Copic markers. 

I cut out the label using the new 

Labels Collection Framelits Dies. 

The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs - Au Naturale

I then used the Framed Tulips embossing folder 

to cover the background and popped it up with pop dots. 

These are all from Stampin' Up!.

#96 – Valentiny Cards

Hi All,

This week's challenge over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog,

is Valentiny Cards - Create a Valentine card thats 3"x3" card.

So... I started by using this frame from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge  
and added the heart from Home Decor Solutions to the centre.

I popped it up on a stamped script background and added the "Love" sentiment.

I added a bow with a button, 

and stitching lines using a chocolate chip maker from Stampin' Up!.

Masculine Birthday Card..

Hi All,

Just thought I would share this with you.

One of my girlfriends at work asked me to make a card for her husbands birthday.

I'm not good at doing masculine because there's not usually ribbons or bows involved.

Well, I came up with this and thought it didn't turn out too badly.

I added some copper brads from my stash to enhance the nautical theme.

Any ways...She loved it and her husband did too, so all went well.

I forgot to take a suitable picture, so I snapped one with my phone before I took it to work, that's why its in the plastic wrap.
