Happy Birthday George!

I made this card for an older gentleman who is a friend of our family...He's turning 80.
When I think of strength and endurance (such as a man turning 80 years old) I think of trees.
So I thought...no better time than now to use the Trendy Trees set from Stampin Up.

Stamps: Trendy Trees - Stampin Up
Paper: craft card stock - Stampin Up
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, chocolate chip - Stampin Up.
Accessories: twine, button
Techniques: white emboss opaque powder - Inkadinkado, faux stitching - white gel pen Uniball Signeo broad.

A book is a Gift!

I always tend to use Stampin Up for my basics, like ink, solid papers & paint.
Which is what I've done here, just simply because you can't lose when matching colours.
You can get a deeper looking embossed image by inking up your embossing folder before you run it through your machine, check out this tutorial by Gina K on stampTV

This card didn't turn out quite the way a I had intended...not too bad though!
